Our website, https://www.foodie.ws is the next generation of restaurant review websites.
We have a unique viewpoint on what it takes to have an optimized search platform for reading reviews about your favorite restaurants, and are committed to democratizing access to that information for our users. We want our users to have a great experience finding the perfect meal quickly, without the hassle of downloading "Yet another application".
Additionally, we want the experience to be as seamlessly integrated with your mobile experience as possible, and for that reason have done our best to provide an application-like experience right from your web browser, all without having to download another application. Let's face it: the majority of people start their search from a search-engine, NOT an application.
And most people HATE being forced to download an application just to search for a quick bite to eat!
What's more, the majority of restaurant search websites don't even focus on what is important to someone looking to find a great meal: the FOOD! Most review websites focus on just a SINGLE review for the BUSINESS as a whole. And this is the entire problem with all of the other restaurant review websites: they have it backwards! The user is not there to rate the BUSINESS! They are there to rate the FOOD!
Right now; no other website allows you to rate individual menu items, or even search whole menus for specific meals. Right now, there are no other websites that are designed around the dining experience, and what people expect when they are thinking about rating a restaurant. What is important to you when you are thinking about where to go eat?
foodie was designed from the ground up to be a location-centric, user friendly, food-driven approach to searching for and rating your favorite cuisines at all the best restaurants in the US and eventually, around the globe!
In short; we wanted to separate the idea of rating the "business" as opposed to rating the menu and specific food items, which is really what most people are interested in when they visit those "other" types of restaurant review websites.
We also wanted to make the searching process as easy and pain-free as possible and put the best information right at your finger-tips without having to read pages upon pages of reviews (unless you wanted to!)
Also; we are tired of being forced to download applications to our phones! Seriously; nobody likes this and we wanted to make a change for the better!
EVERY other review website out there is focused on listing every business in every industry in a very generalized manner.
These sites are fine, and are great at what they do, but they are business review websites, not restaurant review websites!
Most people are finally realizing that you can't trust a "business review" website to tell you anything at all about the food.
foodie is here to provide a map with a food-centric rating, review and search experience for our users, and we are excited to have you try our site!
We try to keep things simple. We hate spam. We hate trusting our information to companies and having that trust violated in practically every way imaginable.
